Flower, also called bud, is the dried and cured flowering top of the female cannabis plant. It is the most traditional form of cannabis and still the most common item on dispensary menus. Flower is usually smoked in a joint, pipe or bong, or heated in a dry-herb vaporizer.
Good flower comes down to genetics, growing conditions, how carefully it was dried and cured, and how fresh it is. When you look at flower, people usually judge a few things: the smell when the jar opens, the density and structure of the buds, how frosty the trichomes look, and whether the buds are properly dry without being crumbly. A harvest or pack date on the label helps you judge freshness.
Flower is sold by weight, usually in grams, eighths (3.5 g), quarters (7 g), halves and ounces (28 g). Pre-ground flower and "smalls" (smaller buds) are also common and often cost less than large, whole buds while coming from the same plants.
The potency on the label is usually listed as total THC. That number is useful, but it is not the only marker of quality. Aroma and terpene content play a big role in the overall experience. Ask our staff about what is in stock right now.
