Cannabinoids

Delta-8 THC

Definition: A close relative of delta-9. It's usually made from CBD in a lab and is generally reported as milder.

Delta-8 THC is a cannabinoid that is chemically very similar to delta-9 THC, the main intoxicating compound in cannabis. The difference is the position of a single double bond in the molecule, which is what the "8" and "9" refer to. Delta-8 does occur naturally, but only in tiny amounts.

Most delta-8 sold today is made by chemically converting CBD extracted from hemp. That process can leave byproducts if it is not done carefully, which is why a complete lab report from a qualified lab matters for any delta-8 product.

People generally describe delta-8 as milder than delta-9, but it is still intoxicating. It can impair driving and judgment, it can show up on drug tests, and the same start-low advice applies. Effects vary from person to person.

The legal status of delta-8 depends on where you are and changes over time, and many regulated cannabis markets restrict it. Product availability at our shop is based on our regulator's rules, so check the current menu or call us rather than assuming a product is in stock.

If you do try a delta-8 product, read the label for milligrams per serving, check the COA, and do not combine it with other intoxicants.
