A low-temp dab means vaporizing a concentrate at a lower temperature than a traditional "red-hot" dab. Many people prefer it because terpenes, which give flavor and aroma, are delicate and burn off or turn harsh at very high heat.
There is no single official range, but low-temp dabbing is often described as somewhere around 450-600°F (about 230-315°C), compared with much higher temperatures from heating a nail until it glows. At lower temperatures you get more flavor and a smoother hit, though the vapor may be a bit less dense.
How to do it. With an e-rig or concentrate pen, choose a lower temperature setting. With a torch and quartz banger, heat the banger, then wait longer before dabbing; a timer or an infrared thermometer helps you be consistent. A carb cap traps heat and helps vaporize the dab at lower temperatures.
Low-temp dabbing pairs especially well with flavor-forward concentrates like live resin, live rosin and sauce.
Even at low temperatures, dabs are strong. Start with a small amount, wait before taking another, handle torches safely, and do not drive after use.
