A vape cart, short for cartridge, is a small pre-filled tank of cannabis oil that screws onto a battery. When you use it, the battery heats a coil or ceramic element that vaporizes the oil, and you inhale the vapor. Carts are popular because they are discreet, easy to use and produce little smell.
Most carts use a "510 thread" connection, the industry standard, so they fit most batteries that are also 510 thread. Some brands use their own pod systems instead. If you are not sure, check the packaging or ask staff before buying a battery.
Carts come in different sizes, usually 0.5 g and 1 g. The oil inside varies. Distillate carts are common and affordable, with flavor added back. Live resin and live rosin carts keep more of the plant's original flavor and usually cost more.
Battery settings matter. Lower voltage usually means smoother hits and better flavor, while higher voltage can taste burnt. Take short, gentle puffs, especially at first, since carts can be strong.
Only buy carts from licensed sources with a COA, which should show potency and screening for contaminants such as heavy metals and residual solvents. Store carts upright, away from heat.
